Google changed their search algorithm to remove content farms - April 2011 |
The new changes will hit hard on websites that don't have their own content and instead copy content from other websites. These include eHow.com, owned by Demand Media. A content farm is a website that uses different methods of stealing content from other websites. These methods range from using top search engine hits on different keywords to actually copy-pasting content that would only be accessible to registered users. The drop in traffic will rise up to 80% in some cases: 78% Mahalo, 61% Associated Content, 51% Examiner.com What does this mean for you? As long as you don't get your content by ripping off other websites, you'll be fine. If you do, then you deserve it. |
